BOOK YOUR SESSION ONLINE NOW

WHAT TO EXPECT

Upon booking, you will receive a confirmation email containing the details of your session, along with information on how to prepare. This email will typically be sent within a few hours of your booking, though please allow for additional time during evenings and weekends.

I recommend scheduling a consultation meeting prior to the shoot to discuss all aspects of the session, ensuring you feel fully informed. This meeting can be conducted over the phone or via Zoom.

If you’re uncertain about what top to wear, please bring three to four options for a standard shoot and six to seven for portfolio shoots. This will allow us to select the best choices together before we begin. Additionally, I will provide you with a “What to Wear for Headshots” guide via email to assist you in making the right decisions.

DURING THE SHOOT

I will warmly greet you as soon as you arrive and assist you with hanging and organising your clothing. Throughout the session, I will be dedicated to our collaboration. I’d love to understand how you plan to use your headshots and the specific “looks” you wish to achieve.

We will review the clothing you’ve brought and select the options that will work best for you. I enjoy creating a diverse range of looks in my headshot sessions, and we’ll discuss various hairstyles and attire that complement your features.

Once your makeup is complete and you’re dressed in your first outfit, we will conduct a quick light test in front of the camera. Since every face is unique, I adjust my lighting accordingly. I shoot all headshot sessions tethered, allowing us to see the results in real-time and make any necessary adjustments.

POSING

Every face I photograph is unique, including yours. Together, we will identify your best angles, and I have a variety of effective techniques to help minimise any concerns, such as double chin, without the need for Photoshop. Additionally, I will guide you on body language and share specific strategies to enhance your presence in front of the camera.

EXPRESSION

Expression is a vital element of your headshots. Throughout our session, we will focus on ensuring you convey a warm, confident, and approachable demeanour. It’s often the subtle nuances that elevate a headshot from mediocre to exceptional.

Together, we will create headshots that truly set you apart from the competition.

IMAGE SELECTION

In today’s professional environment, it is not advisable to have clients evaluate their images on a small 3-inch screen from the back of the camera. To enhance transparency and collaboration during our sessions, I utilize a technique called ‘Tethering.’ This allows us to review images together in real time. When working on location, while images may appear promising on the camera display, it’s only when viewed on a larger monitor that we can truly assess their quality and determine what resonates best.

During the studio session, I will shoot as many different looks as possible in the time allowed in order to give you a range of images to choose from that will suit your needs.  I like to review the images on my monitor as we go so that I can coach you and give you tips and tricks that will help you to look amazing in your Headshots. By editing as we go, we can see which angles you look your best so that you will be more exuberant  in front of the camera.

This process allows you total control over the outcome of your pictures. There will be no surprises. Each and everyone of my client leaves my studio with satisfaction guaranteed.

EDITING AND RETOUCHING

At the end of our session, we will review and select the images you wish to purchase. If you need more time to decide, I will create a password-protected online proofing gallery for you to comfortably review all your images at home. Please feel free to email or text me once you’ve made your final selection.

I will personally edit and retouch your chosen images to the high standard showcased in my headshots gallery. The images will be adjusted for an appealing colour balance, ensuring they match what I see on my computer screen. Additionally, any previously discussed blemish removal will be applied at an appropriate level. Should you require any further retouching after the initial delivery, there will be a fee of £30 per image.

ONLINE GALLERY

We are pleased to inform you that an online gallery will be accessible through our client portal. This platform will allow you to share your images with your agent, company HR, management, family, and friends, ensuring you have the support you need to make a confident final selection.

MY STYLE

I specialise in creating striking, eye-catching headshots that will help you stand out. If you have a specific style in mind for your studio session or would like to explore on-location options (weather permitting), please inform me prior to your session.

I believe in open communication, so if any particular look isn’t translating well on screen, I will provide honest feedback and suggest adjustments to your makeup, hairstyle, or clothing as needed. This approach ensures that you make the most of our time together and leave completely satisfied with your session.

WHAT TO WEAR

For your headshots, plain clothing in natural tones, soft pastels, or darker shades is most effective. If you wish to express your personality, primary colours can also be a great choice. Please consult our ‘What to Wear Guide,’ which you will receive, for additional details. We recommend avoiding bold patterns, logos, large prints, and stripes, as these can be distracting in the final images.

I recommend bringing at five different clothing options, along with additional colour variations for each look. The more options we have, the better selection we can choose from. Ensure that all clothing is well-fitted, and that you feel comfortable and confident wearing it.

To prevent creasing, please iron your selections and transport them on hangers to the studio.

JEWELLERY

Jewellery should be kept to a minimum. Stud type earrings are best. Distracting hooped or dangly earrings should ideally be removed. Necklaces are not advised. Nothing to distract the viewer from  being captivated by your image. You only have one chance to impress. The connection should be instant and its you that they want them to remember.

HAIR AND MAKE-UP

WOMEN

Your hair should be styled in the way you wish to present yourself for the shoot. We can explore a couple of different styles as the session progresses.

Makeup should be kept subtle, starting with a natural look and allowing us to build upon it to achieve various effects. It’s advisable to avoid face powders with a sheen; a matte finish is preferred for the best results.

If you would like to have a professional hair and makeup artist present during the session, please note that an additional fee will apply to cover their services.

MEN

I generally advise against the use of makeup for men, as all selected images will be retouched to remove blemishes as needed.

Please ensure your hair is trimmed by a barber or stylist a few days prior to the session, and styled in a way that reflects how you wish to present yourself. If you have facial hair, please ensure it is well-groomed for the shoot.

If you would like to have a professional hair stylist present during the session, an additional fee will apply to cover their time.

BOOKING AND DEPOSIT

Bookings can be made directly through the booking pages on our website. A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your date and time, and please note that this deposit is non-refundable within 72 hours of the session. I look forward to assisting you in promoting yourself or your business. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out for a no-obligation discussion.
